This Shows Me Why Regulation Isn’t Just “Paperwork”
As someone still early on my trading journey, reading about Verus losing its FCA permissions makes me realize how important regulation really is. When you’re new, it’s easy to focus on returns, advice, or how confident an adviser sounds, and overlook things like governance and regulatory history. Seeing that a firm failed to pay compensation ordered by the Ombudsman and even broke asset restrictions makes it clear that rules exist to protect people like me.
It also helps me understand why dealing with authorized firms matters so much, and why warnings about connected but unregulated companies shouldn’t be ignored. For me, this is a reminder to slow down, check regulatory status, and choose firms that respect both their clients and the system designed to protect them.
