Russia Stocks Lower at Close of Trade; MOEX Index Down 1.44%

• MOEX Russia Index fell 1.44% on Wednesday, closing at a 1-month low, dragged down by Mining, Oil & Gas, and Telecoms sectors.
• Top gainers included NOVATEK (+1.36%), Transneft Pref (+0.65%), and Polyus (+0.24%).
• Biggest losers were Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank (-4.56%), PhosAgro (-4.16%), and Tatneft (-2.48%), while market breadth showed 195 decliners versus 43 advancers.

Investing - Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 1.44% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were NOVATEK PJSC , which rose 1.36% or 15.00 points to trade at 1,116.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Transneft PJSC Pref added 0.65% or 8.00 points to end at 1,240.00 and Polyus PJSC was up 0.24% or 5.60 points to 2,368.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO, which fell 4.56% or 0.33 points to trade at 6.86 at the close. PhosAgro PJSC declined 4.16% or 299.00 points to end at 6,883.00 and TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin was down 2.48% or 15.60 points to 614.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 195 to 43 and 9 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index - RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 2.43% to 32.48.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.50% or 19.50 to $3,892.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.95% or 0.59 to hit $61.78 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $65.44 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 82.50, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 96.76.
