Brazil Stocks Lower at Close of Trade; Bovespa Down 0.28%

• Brazil's Bovespa Index slipped 0.28%, weighed down by losses in the Basic Materials, Real Estate, and Consumption sectors.
• WEG (+2.70%), Companhia Paranaense de Energia (+2.15%), and Auren Energia (+1.99%) were the top gainers.
• Magazine Luiza (-7.97%), Braskem (-6.67%), and Cosan (-4.52%) led the declines, while market volatility eased slightly with the CBOE Brazil ETF Volatility Index down 1.29% to 27.60.

Investing - Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Real Estate and Consumption sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were WEG SA, which rose 2.70% or 1.01 points to trade at 38.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Companhia Paranaense de Energia Pref B added 2.15% or 0.27 points to end at 12.80 and Auren Energia SA was up 1.99% or 0.21 points to 10.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Magazine Luiza SA, which fell 7.97% or 0.71 points to trade at 8.20 at the close. Braskem SA declined 6.67% or 0.45 points to end at 6.30 and Cosan SA Industria e Comercio was down 4.52% or 0.27 points to 5.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 594 to 357 and 60 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.29% to 27.60.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 3.09% or 129.75 to $4,331.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.24% or 0.72 to hit $57.55 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.67% or 2.65 to trade at $392.25 .
USD/BRL was down 0.20% to 5.44, while EUR/BRL rose 0.13% to 6.36.
