Brazil Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; Bovespa Up 0.31%

• Brazil's Bovespa Index rose 0.31% to a new five-year high, driven by gains in Industrials, Basic Materials, and Financials sectors.

Investing - Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.31% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Marfrig Global Foods, which rose 15.63% or 2.50 points to trade at 18.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Cogna Educacao SA added 3.77% or 0.13 points to end at 3.58 and Embraer SA was up 3.10% or 2.69 points to 89.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Auren Energia SA, which fell 6.12% or 0.72 points to trade at 11.05 at the close. C A Modas SA declined 3.32% or 0.56 points to end at 16.32 and Cvc Brasil ON was down 3.23% or 0.06 points to 1.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 502 to 452 and 62 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cogna Educacao SA rose to 3-years highs; gaining 3.77% or 0.13 to 3.58. Shares in Embraer SA rose to all time highs; rising 3.10% or 2.69 to 89.37.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.83% to 26.16.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.31% or 52.81 to $3,966.89 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.20% or 1.35 to hit $59.96 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.13% or 0.50 to trade at $389.60 .
USD/BRL was down 0.23% to 5.36, while EUR/BRL fell 0.19% to 6.25.
