Brazil Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; Bovespa Up 0.86%

Investing - Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Public Utilities, Electric Power and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Azzas 2154 SA, which rose 5.38% or 1.32 points to trade at 25.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Eneva SA added 4.98% or 1.00 points to end at 21.10 and CPFL Energia SA was up 3.73% or 1.77 points to 49.17 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA, which fell 7.85% or 0.73 points to trade at 8.57 at the close. Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica declined 5.21% or 0.15 points to end at 2.77 and C A Modas SA was down 3.81% or 0.45 points to 11.37.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 606 to 364 and 32 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.58% to 41.08.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.21% or 10.91 to $5,147.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 6.12% or 5.56 to hit $85.34 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract rose 1.30% or 3.80 to trade at $297.10.
USD/BRL was down 1.63% to 5.16, while EUR/BRL fell 0.72% to 6.05.
